More Hate Speech From Rush....

In Rush's usual style, he creates a set of factual errors and outright distortion to base another volley of scathing rhetoric and again throws around the word "hate".

I'm losing my patience with you liberals out there who demand that Bush ought to "accept responsibility" for the 9/11 attacks. You are desperate to realize your infantile goal of seeing this commission turn into a successful partisan witch hunt, because you hate Bush more than the terrorists who attacked us. This proves that all Richard Clarke is doing is campaigning for Kerry, but his book is loaded with factual errors and out-right fabrications.

The abundant fact of the matter is the Bush administration did essentially nothing about terrorism prior to 9/11. No principles meetings, no military intervention in Afghanistan, no real plan for military action in Afghanistan (see Bush press conference 4/13), no interdiction of terrorist funding streams and no warnings or alerts even though the summer saw a huge spike in chatter. Unless you think the buck just doesn't stop with republican presidents, the inaction of this administration does indeed make them culpable.

Rush goes on to characterize the commission as a "partisan witchunt". This can only be because it is casting a light on the failures of this administration when it comes to acting on terrorism. It is no wonder the administration fought the creation of it and avoided cooperation wherever possible. The fact of the matter is the commission is made up of democrats and republicans.

Insisting that "liberals hate Bush more than the terrorists" is absurd and an insult to thinking people everywhere. Rush should not throw such venomous gibes unless he is prepared to provide names. And even IF he could name a single person who would assert such a thing, how could that mean all liberals hold such a view?

Asserting that "Clarke is campaigning for Kerry" is equally specious. Clarke is a republican who served during the Bush administration. He has not been on the campaign trail, does not publically support Kerry, disavows politics. Rush like most of the GOP is circling the wagons because the facts Clarke brings are not favorable to the image constructed of Bush.

And IF it were true that "liberals hate Bush more than the terrorists", how could this mean Clarke is campaigning for Kerry? This makes no sense whatsoever. Yet again, Rush is insulting his listeners.
