Just More Baseless Demagoguery Here Rush is pumping up the troops on hot air, confirming the prejudices of listeners and baselessly defining what both sides think.
Rush must have gotten some sort of psychology degree. Here is stating emphatically the democrats "hate" Bush. Is it some democrats? All democrats"? Twenty busloads? And by what measure do they "hate" him? And just how does Rush define hate? Hate such as how Rush is using it here is very prejudicial. What Rush is doing with this is short-circuiting debate by painting one side as irrational through the use of a very nebulous adjective. There are many reasons to oppose George W. Bush, he campaigned against nation building but now we are in the biggest such effort since the Marshall Plan, this administration used 9/11 and statements designed to scare the public to garner support for a unilateral invasion, over 540 Americans have died invading a country that posed little threat, the taxpayers are footing the bill to the tune of 160 billion and counting, the debt is soaring to historic levels, the size of goverment has increased, jobs are being shipped overseas at an alarming rate, environmental regulations have been knocked down by industry polluters installed by Bush to rewrite the regulations, America has alienated its allies, etc. There are many reasons to oppose Bush. There is nothing irrational about questioning his actions, statements and opposing him. Rush goes on to pump up his listeners by assigning them a higher level of consideration saying their support of Bush is positive and reasonable. He did fail to discuss the extreme efforts the GOP resorted when they were out of power and Clinton was in. Their actions were truly wacky. Expensive too. The GOP wasted millions of dollars purusing groundless accusations for the sole purpose of their own political objectives. Now that is "wacky". It is unfortunate that Rush has so little respect for his listeners and substantive debate. It is also amazing his listeners tolerate his mischaracterizations and constant efforts to focus attention away from issues and short ciruit debate. |
