Limbaugh Tells America to Stop Whining About High Oil Prices

Rush Limbaugh insists he is "in touch" with "real America". Limbaugh enjoys a 250 million dollar contract for talking on the radio for three hours per day, he owns a set of expensive luxury cars and smokes fine cigars. Rush's own statements prove that he really is not "in touch" with the daily struggles that most of America faces each day.

Oil prices are starting to skyrocket, and as we discussed yesterday, the gasoline price is starting to head north. In many places it's up to $2.15 or higher, and of course I haven't changed my attitude about this from yesterday. It doesn't matter to me. I mean, as prices go higher my philosophy is go earn more money. It certainly makes more sense than to sit around griping about it, doesn't it? I mean, so many things are predictable here. You know that every spring or on the verge of every spring we're going to get stories about gasoline prices going up, and we know that the public is going to screech and howl and talk about how unfair it is and, "Oh, woe is us." And the media is going to start targeting the usual suspects, the evil, greedy oil companies, and, of course, our dependence on foreign oil.

"Real America" works hard. Families where both husband and wife work extensive hours each week just make ends meet are very common. Over the past 4 years, salaries are down on average by $9000 dollars. To most Americans, higher fuel prices make a substantial difference... food and goods prices rise, less people travel, stock prices fall. A spike in fuel prices makes it much harder to stay afloat. It has nothing to do with "screeching" or "howling".

Limbaugh clearly doesn't understand the struggles everyday America goes through each day just to keep up with rising health care costs, unemployment, reduced wages, increased education costs, taking care of family members, etc. Limbaugh doesn't seem to know what real work is. In real America, people constantly strive to "go earn more money". It is quite insulting for Rush to tell people to "go earn more money" as if they are a bunch of bumbling idiots who just can't figure out why they are not managing to save, struggling to feed their families, pay bills, etc. If it was all just as easy as "go earn more money", there would be very little attention paid to things such as a rise in fuel prices.

Lord Rush Limbaugh has looked down at the followers who placed him on his pedestal of wealth and decreed, "go work harder". He is out of touch. Then again, real people don't get 250 million dollar contracts from Premier Radio Networks.
